Biography

 

I have spent many years as a painter and am married to a well established painter, John Whittall. I still paint but there has been a gradual seepage into another passion of mine, that of precious and semi precious metals and gems. It began a number of years ago when I first started to work with gold on both my frames and paintings. To begin with frustration was the predominent emotion but as I learnt how to handle and manipulate the metals I fell in love with their beauty and versatility.

 

I make pieces that I love and want to wear and hope that you do too.

 

The inspiration for all my creative work comes from nature. I was born in Cumbria surrounded by a glorious example of natural colour and drama. Perhaps that explains my atmospheric paintings and it’s the colour and texture of natural stones that inspire my jewellery. Each piece begins with the stone then the design.
