Biography

I have spent many years as a painter and am married to a well established painter, John Whittall. I still paint but there has been a gradual seepage into another passion of mine, that of precious and semi precious metals and gems. It began a number of years ago when I first started to work with gold on both my frames and paintings. To begin with frustration was the predominant emotion but as I learnt how to handle and manipulate the metals I fell in love with their beauty and versatility.

I make pieces that I love and want to wear and hope that you do too.

Contrast seems to be a theme in my work.  Mixing abstract with representational painting excites me and contrasting rough hewn stones with highly polished metals and vice versa is the distinguishing note in my jewellery.

My jewellery can be seen in the Grenville Room British Museum in London .
